1. Infrared Heating FAQs

Infrared heating provides a deep, comfortable warmth, similar to how the sun heats your skin. Instead of wasting energy heating empty space, it efficiently warms objects and people in the room.

Our infrared heaters are among the most cost-effective options available, turning electricity into heat efficiently using high-quality, British-made materials.

Paired with our easy-to-use Genius control systems, you’ll save even more on your energy bills.

To get the most out of our Connect Infrared heaters, you’ll need our Genius system, which includes a Hub, thermostats for each room, and optional add-ons to further optimise your heating.

Once it’s installed, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it.

Our UK-made Connect Infrared heating panels are designed to help you save money on energy bills by heating objects, not the air. This means you’ll feel the warmth faster—usually in less than 10 minutes in a well-insulated home!

Studies conducted by universities have proven the efficiency of our panels.

The cost of infrared heaters depends on factors like the size of your rooms, the number of rooms, and how well your home is insulated. For example, installing infrared panels and a control system in a typical 2-bedroom apartment would cost around £4,200.

The best part? You could save up to 50% on your energy bills compared to storage heaters — a win-win!

It’s easy — just use a thermostat! The panels themselves turn on and off to emit the right infrared wavelengths, but to adjust the temperature, we’ll install a Genius thermostat.

These can be controlled through your phone or set to turn on automatically when you enter the room.

By managing your heaters room-by-room, you can achieve significant savings, with many customers reporting savings of 20-50% compared to their old systems.

2. Smart Boilers

No, you don’t have to change your current heating system!

Our Mixergy smart boilers work with your existing setup, whether it’s electric, gas, heat pumps, or renewables. You’ll still enjoy the benefits of smart boiler technology, helping you reduce energy usage and reliance on the grid.

Mixergy tanks are designed to work efficiently with a variety of power sources and smart controls.

Here’s how they help you save money, time, and energy:

Electric and Gas-Powered Tanks:
Mixergy tanks use innovative top-up technology, heating only the water you need by floating hot water on top of cold. This reduces heat loss, speeds up reheating (5x faster for electric, 2x faster for gas), and saves you money. Plus, a built-in sensor tells you how much hot water is available at all times.

Heat Pumps:
With heat pumps, Mixergy tanks use an external heat exchanger to evenly heat water from the bottom up. This boosts the efficiency of your heat pump by up to 8% and can increase the amount of hot water stored by up to 20%.

Renewables:
Have solar panels or another renewable energy source? Mixergy tanks can use free energy from the sun to heat your water, leaving more room in the tank to take advantage of renewable energy and reduce your reliance on the grid.

Smart Controls:
Mixergy tanks connect to the internet, allowing you to control your hot water from anywhere via the Mixergy app. The system receives automatic updates and remote diagnostics to keep everything running smoothly.

You can also connect Mixergy to smart home systems like Hive, Nest, and Tado for even more convenience.

Mixergy cylinders come in two sizes: Standard and Slimline. For a standard cylinder, you’ll need at least 700mm of space, while the slimline version requires 580mm. Make sure there’s also at least 50mm of space above the cylinder for proper installation.

Not at all! Plumbers and heating engineers familiar with standard vented or unvented cylinders will find the installation of a Mixergy cylinder straightforward.

It has a similar plumbing setup to conventional cylinders, with a single cold water inlet at the bottom and a hot water outlet at the top. The only difference is the added internet connectivity, but the plumbing and electrical work remain the same.

Need more details? Feel free to contact us!

A Mixergy cylinder needs a mains voltage electrical supply and must be connected to a dedicated 16A MCB-protected circuit via a 20A DP switch. It should also be wired according to the latest IEE regulations.

Our qualified electricians will handle the electrical connection for you.

Testimonials

Our clients love us!

Amazing customer service both over the phone and in person. The engineer was very friendly and walked me through the controls after he completed the installation. I'd thoroughly recommend!
The guys really helped me understand the Infrared heating. It's been stalled for a few months now and I can already see the impact on my bills.
Our ceiling mounted infra-red panels were fitted cleanly and efficiently by the HeatWise team. The weather turned colder the very next day and we can confirm that this type of heating really works. The level of control means you don't have to be cold (or too warm) with instant heat being available as you need it, instantly. Highly recommended.
I'm very impressed with the knowledge of the product and all things related to our electrical future. HeatWise have been a wealth of support throughout our new build project in which we have installed 13 infrared heaters. For us, this was the perfect heating solution. The flexibility and speed of use (and value) of the panels is a real winner, in our opinion, over flooding the house full of underfloor heating. Can't recommend enough.
